Description

Helping to Build Healthier Communities

CHP was set up by the Department of Health and Social Care to provide high quality health and social care facilities which meet local needs – our purpose is to provide innovative and sustainable spaces for patient care. Our properties, developed via partnerships with the private sector, house GP services, community nursing, rehabilitation services, outpatients, diagnostic services, pharmacies, dental services, and other community services. These LIFT buildings are now beginning to approach the end of their first term and the vision for our organisation is increasingly being seen through the lens of ‘Securing the Future’ – our programme of work to lead these high quality assets into a new future.

We have three main business areas – finance and investment, property and operations and advisory services for strategic estates matters. Our people understand primary and community healthcare infrastructure and work tirelessly to support the NHS to recover core patient services, deliver placed based care and move services out of acute settings into the community. We are part of the NHS family.

We strive to lead the field in what we do. Our priorities and our people support this. They encompass the ambition we have for the future; and our willingness to innovate and develop solutions to deliver improved health outcomes in local communities. Our expertise is highly valued by those we work with. We work at national, regional and local levels, ensuring our active participation in conversations to align our portfolio to emerging clinical service models and service contract needs.  Our vision is one where CHP is recognised as a pioneering, innovative leader of change; led by experts in their field.

We are now seeking an experienced, values driven individual to join our Board.  This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our leadership and support the development of the company’s future direction by offering strategic advice and challenge to the Board and Executive Management Team at a time of significant transformation and change.  Furthermore, the appointed individual will chair our Audit Committee and as such a financial qualification is essential; and we are particularly interested in those who can evidence a track record of providing strategic financial leadership within a context of complex infrastructure and estates.

As the country; and the NHS, navigates political and social transformation, this is a pivotal time for our organisation and the clients we serve.  A greater focus on the importance of primary and community care as outlined in Darzi’s recent report, together with the changing patterns of service access will require us, and those who deliver services from our portfolio, to deliver innovative solutions which align to this shifting landscape.  By joining our Board there is opportunity to make a real impact on the future of how healthcare is delivered in the UK

If you think you have the skills and ability to add value to the leadership and governance of our organisation, we would very much like to hear from you.
