Description

Helping to Build Healthier Communities

CHP was set up by the Department of Health and Social Care to provide high quality health and social care facilities which meet local needs – our purpose is to provide innovative and sustainable spaces for patient care. Our properties, developed via partnerships with the private sector, house GP services, community nursing, rehabilitation services, outpatients, diagnostic services, pharmacies, dental services, and other community services. These buildings are increasingly being developed through CHP investment to provide more out of hospital care, and increased utilisation is a key priority. In the next decade these assets will approach the end of the current PPP term, and our focus on securing the future of these assets is at the heart of our forward strategy.

We have three main business areas – finance and investment, property and operations and advisory services for strategic estates matters. Our people understand primary and community healthcare infrastructure and work to support the NHS to provide patient services, deliver placed based care, and move services out of acute settings into the community.

We strive to lead the field in what we do. Our priorities and our people support this. They encompass the ambition we have for the future; and our willingness to innovate and develop solutions to deliver improved health outcomes in local communities. Our expertise is highly valued by those we work with. We work at national, regional and local level, ensuring our active participation in conversations to align our portfolio to emerging clinical service models. Our vision is one where CHP is recognised as a pioneering, innovative leader of change; led by experts in their field.

We are now seeking an experienced, values driven individual. The Chief Property Officer is a Board Director.  This is an exciting opportunity lead and support the development of the company’s future direction. As a person you must be guided by personal values which align to our own – committed to providing inspirational leadership to the company and to our customers.  This role will lead our Property & Operations Directorate, setting strategy, driving performance, compliance and delivery, and as such we are seeking substantial leadership experience in property portfolio management, ideally from both the public and private sectors in organisations that have undergone significant change and growth.

As the NHS navigates political and social transformation, this is a pivotal time for our organisation.  A greater focus on the importance of primary and community care as outlined in Darzi’s recent report, together with the changing patterns of service access will require us, and those who deliver services from our portfolio, to deliver innovative solutions which align to this shifting landscape. We expect our buildings to increasingly feature as neighbourhood and local care centres.  By joining our Board there is opportunity to make a real impact on the future of healthcare delivery.

If you think you have the skills and ability to add value to the leadership of our organisation, we would very much like to hear from you.
